This Privacy Policy explains how Pinzapp ("Pinzapp", "we", "us", or "our")
collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the
Pinzapp application and website at
https://pinzapp.app (collectively, the
"Service"). Pinzapp is a social, location-based app that lets you create and
discover "pins" and "footprints" on a map, join events, share photos and
stories, follow other people, and message them.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in
accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide
- Account information: name, display name, username, email
address, date of birth, and gender, provided when you sign up or during
onboarding.
- Google Sign-In: if you sign in with Google, we receive
your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
- Profile content: profile photo/avatar and any bio or
profile details you add.
- User content: photos and images you capture or upload,
pins, footprints, presence and joinable events, captions, place names,
comments, stories, and direct messages.
b. Information collected automatically
- Location data: with your permission, we collect your
device's precise location to show you nearby content, place pins and
footprints on the map, and power location-based features. You can disable
location access at any time in your device settings; some features may not
work without it.
- Camera and photos: with your permission, we access your
camera and photo library so you can capture or select images to share. We
only use images you choose to upload.
- Device & usage data: basic technical information such
as device type, operating system, app version, and aggregated, cookieless
usage and page-view analytics used to keep the Service reliable and improve it.
- Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications, we
store a device token so we can send you relevant alerts.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To provide core features: the map, pins, footprints, events, stories,
following, and messaging.
- To show you relevant nearby and recommended content.
- To send notifications you have opted into.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms.
- To analyze and improve the Service.
- To communicate with you about your account or important changes.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- With other users: content you post (pins, footprints,
stories, profile, comments) is shared with other users according to the
visibility settings you choose. Direct messages are shared with the
recipient(s).
- With service providers who help us operate the Service,
under contractual confidentiality obligations:
- Hosting & analytics (e.g. Vercel, Railway)
- Database and file/image storage (e.g. Cloudflare R2)
- Maps (e.g. Mapbox)
- Authentication (e.g. Google Sign-In)
- Email delivery (for password resets and notifications)
- For legal reasons: if required by law, regulation, legal
process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pinzapp, our users,
or the public.
4. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to
provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your
personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required
to retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
5. Your Rights & Choices
- Access & update: you can view and edit your profile
information in the app.
- Delete your account: you can request deletion of your
account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below.
- Permissions: you can revoke location, camera, photo, and
notification permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable
data-protection laws (such as the right to access, correct, or erase your data).
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your
information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No
method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
Pinzapp is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age
required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal
information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. International Users
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your
country. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information
to those locations.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last
updated" date at the top, and where appropriate, notify you within the app.
Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
